Dallas Farmers Market Hits Record 200 Vendors for 2026 Season

DALLAS — The Dallas Farmers Market is celebrating a milestone achievement as it kicks off the 2026 season with a record-breaking 200 vendors, marking a 25% increase from last year and representing the highest vendor participation in the market's history.

Located at 1010 S. Pearl Expressway in the heart of downtown Dallas, the farmers market has become a cornerstone of the local food scene, drawing thousands of visitors each weekend from neighborhoods across the metroplex, including Deep Ellum, Bishop Arts District, and Uptown.

"We're absolutely thrilled to reach this 200-vendor milestone," said Maria Rodriguez, the market's general manager. "This growth reflects not only the incredible entrepreneurial spirit in Dallas but also our community's commitment to supporting local agriculture and small businesses."

The expanded vendor roster includes 75 produce vendors, 45 prepared food stalls, 35 artisan craft booths, 25 flower vendors, and 20 specialty food producers. New additions for 2026 include a hydroponic lettuce farm from Garland, a Korean BBQ fusion truck, and several vendors specializing in locally-sourced honey and preserves.

City economic development data shows the farmers market generates approximately $8.2 million annually in local economic activity, with the vendor increase expected to boost that figure by another $2 million this year.

"The farmers market has become a true destination for families throughout Dallas-Fort Worth," explained Carlos Mendez, a longtime vendor who operates a organic vegetable stand and recently expanded his operation to include a mobile setup. "I see customers driving in from as far as Plano and Arlington every Saturday. Some tell me they make it part of their weekend routine – they'll visit the market, then head over to nearby businesses for car maintenance or shopping."

The market's success has created a ripple effect for surrounding businesses along Pearl Street and in the nearby Farmers Market District. Local establishments, including restaurants, auto repair shops like Faith Low Price Auto Glass, and retail stores, report increased foot traffic on market days as visitors explore the area.

Looking Ahead

Market officials are also announcing extended hours for the 2026 season, with Saturday operations running from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The market will continue to offer free parking in designated lots and maintain its shuttle service connecting to the nearby DART rail station.

The Dallas Farmers Market, which operates year-round, has been serving the community since 1941. The 2026 season officially begins this Saturday, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 8 a.m. featuring Mayor Johnson and several City Council members.
